The second user who tries to run ScanSnap Manager under the Administrator account gets an error message saying that there is already such a process.Ģ) I've tried using the Windows Task Scheduler to start ScanSnap Manager under the Administrator account on a user login event. In my case, I do have 3 of them which are being used by 3 different users simultaneously. If you only have one scanner, that's no problem. To start ScanSnap automatically during boot, you can add a task to Windows Task Scheduler and set the option to start it as Administrator.ġ) The need for running ScanSnap Manager as Administrator means only one user can scan at any given time. Right-click on the ScanSnap Manager icon and select "Run as Administrator".Ĥ. Copy C:\Windows\SSDriver folder to C:\Users\\Windows\ folder.ģ. Marc, please contact our support team by e-mail for further troubleshooting. I'll gladly help with troubleshooting this as much as I can. The only reason I bought the USB Redirector RDP Edition - Server was because I need to get those scanners working on my thin clients. Hitting the big green scan button on the scanner will make its led blink a few seconds but the scanning won't start. However, the "ScanSnap Manager" will not recognize the device as connected. Also, it shows up properly in the device manager. If I run it (ScanSnap Support Tool) and click on the ScanSnap-connection recovery, it tells me that the scanner is connected correctly.

The "ScanSnap Manager" software (version 5.1 L51) comes even with a tool that allows you to verify the setup. The scanner device (ScanSnap S510) shows up properly as connected on the server. I'm using the Linux Client version 2.5.1 with FreeRDP 1.0.1, connecting to a Windows 2008 R2 server which is running USB Redirector RDP Edition - Server version 2.3. I'm having exactly the same issue as he does. I assume from the initial post the johnivey is using the "ScanSnap Manager". Johnivey, which scanning software are you using? WHen i plugged the scanner directly into the server and made an RDP connection the scanner was recognized. I have verified that it works fine with a virtual machine using RemoteFX. You can follow the procedure below to verify it:ġ) Plug the scanner directly into the Remote Desktop Host computer.Ģ) Establish a Remote Desktop session to that computer.ģ) Start scanning application and see if it detects the scanner.
This usually happens when the scanning software does not work properly in Remote Desktop session. The Server and Client show the device is being redirected, however the software does not recognize the scanner at all. The driver loads fine and the sotware installs. I have a Fujitsu SnapScan 1500 that I am trying to get working in a Remote Desktop Host Session.
